As more and more cash pours into the pockets of Team McCann, I see that they are off again. This time to Berlin and again in a private jet. And tonight they will appear on BBC's Crimewatch, together with their tacky "Band of Hope" wristbands and ribbons.
There's now over £600,000.00 quid in the Team McCann private bank account. And as I pointed out here there's no public scrutiny on how this cash is being spent. It must of course be spent in accordance with the objects of the company. These are however pretty wide!
Clause 3.1.1 of the Foundation (doesn't that word "Foundation" sound as though it's a charity?) allows the fund
"To provide support, including financial assistance, to Madeleine’s family."
I suspect most people paying into the fund do think they are giving to a charity.
And soon they'll be on the road to Morocco with all their lawyers, PR bods and general hangers-on, all of Africa yet to be conquered. It won't be long before they find some excuse to make further withdrawals for their account to visit America.
I wonder how long it will be before the public get tired of this couple's jet setting life style and begin to ask pertinent questions about the money? Or how long before they both stop building up their celebrity status and return to their patients. Perhaps they see their long term careers as "B" list celebs on Big Brother or doing the rounds of the chat show circuit.
Could you please sign this petition asking Leicestershire Social Services to investigate the conduct of the McCanns:

Look at the date this was filed, 2 weeks after their daughter disappeared, they were registering her name as a bloody trade mark...
